Introduction to Education in Scotland

Scotland’s Education System provides a curriculum for children and young people aged 3 to 18, known as the Curriculum for Excellence. It aims to raise achievement for all, enabling young people to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to succeed in learning, life and work.

Service families who are thinking of relocating or are relocating to Scotland from England, often ask us about the differences between the education systems.

We’re therefore pleased to see that the Directorate Children and Young People have produced an introductory guide to Education in Scotland which we hope you will find helpful, please click here.
