In honour of the 50th Anniversary of Sir Francis Chichester’s circumnavigation of the globe in 1967.
You’ll have the opportunity to make boats to commemorate all the boats that sailed to greet Sir Francis Chichester in the sound in 1967, after he tool a record breaking 226 days to sail single-handed round the world, returning to Plymouth triumphant on 28th of May 1967.
Bring your boats to the Place de Brest, Cornwall Street in Plymouth, PL1 1LB, for the Lord Mayor’s Day on the 27th of May 2017 at 1230 to participate in a Sir Francis Chichester themed performance.
