This independent organisation exists to ensure that serving and retired members of the Armed Forces, their widows, widowers, surviving partners, civil partners and dependants, receive the pension to which they are entitled and which they deserve. It is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, allowing it to campaign objectively on behalf of their members and of members of the Armed Forces generally. This is a registered charity, which was formed in 1958 with Admiralty Board endorsement. The activities of the Association are supervised by a Council of Management, representing a distinguished body drawn from the City of London, Commerce, Industry and the Royal Navy. Its functions are to provide independent, free, confidential and unbiased help on all matters of personal finance, including investment and financial planning for resettlement. It also offers assistance on all matters of civilian employment. This service is available to all serving and retired officers, men and women of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, and their respective Reserves.
