RNRM Family Research

The Naval Families Federation is delighted to support a new research study specifically looking at the Naval Service experience of time spent apart. This will provide families with the opportunity to tell those in positions of power about their ‘lived experience’.

It is examining the impact of separation, resulting not from operational deployment, but from ‘weekending’, training (e.g. BOST), exercises and other Service requirements that prevent the serving person from coming home.

This independent study is being carried out by leading experts in the field of Military Health at King’s College London. It is funded by Greenwich Hospital, a charity that provides support to serving and retired personnel of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines and their family members.

The first part of this study is a short online survey, please click here. The survey will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and your feedback will be completely anonymous.  Please do take this opportunity to share your thoughts.

There will also be an opportunity for you to contribute to other parts of the study, so keep an eye out for further updates.
