Transition Liaison Post
Working in partnership with the Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT) and the Army and RAF Families Federations we are pleased to have the opportunity to offer a new role. The post holder will carry out a research project to help us better understand issues facing families transitioning out of the Naval Service and the support available to them.
The vacancy is for a part time position located in Portsmouth (70% of all Naval personnel transition through Portsmouth) with flexible hours (20 per week) on a 2 year fixed term contract.
The applicant will possess a good knowledge of the Naval Service and ideally have experience of the resettlement process. As the project will run as a separate work-strand within the NFF team the post holder will be self-starting and able to manage deadlines, taking the project from inception to conclusion. The role will require strong inter-personal skills to initiate communication with families and relevant stakeholders. A thorough approach to research and the ability to prepare reports will be essential.
We are looking for someone who will become a subject matter expert on transition issues, particularly the family considerations at the transition point, and is motivated to make it a positive experience for families.
