Who should apply?

We welcome applications from non-serving members of Naval families who can bring:
• Authentic lived experience of Royal Navy or Royal Marines family life
• Credibility within the community
• A passion for advocating for Service families
• An interest in (or willingness to learn about) charity governance

You don’t need to be an expert in governance, we value experience, insight, and commitment above all.

What is the commitment?

• Four board meetings per year (January, April, July, October)
• Meetings are a mix of in person in Portsmouth and virtual via Teams
• Attendance in person for the July Strategy Day is required
• Reasonable expenses are paid
We recognise that family life can be unpredictable, and the charity supports trustees to balance Board duties around Naval family commitments.

Please save Monday 9th November (1330 – 1700) in your diary. If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend the next board meeting as an Observer. Please note that this meeting will take place in November as a one-off exception; Trustee Board meetings are normally held in October.
