Helping RN and RM Families Feel Heard and Valued
As an independent charity, the Naval Families Federation provides support and guidance on matters affecting the lives of naval service families, acting as an advocate when appropriate to resolve complex issues. As subject matter experts we continue to contribute to academic research, act as a critical friend to the Royal Navy, drive Defence led policies presenting the naval families’ perspective to influence senior decision makers and shape change.

Working for the NFF gives me the opportunity to use my knowledge and personal experience of being part of a RM family to provide our community with invaluable support and information. Being a visible presence for our families gives me a sense of purpose.
It’s a genuine privilege to support families, sometimes when they are faced with significant challenges in their lives: to take time to listen, understand and advocate. The common shared experience and understanding of Naval life within the NFF leads to a clear sense of purpose and positivity.
I do not know what I would have done without all their guidance and help with my visa and now I do not know what I would do without their support as colleagues, it is truly an honour to be a part of a team so authentically caring.
I have been on both sides of the Naval Families Federation, from needing support to now working for the federation. I have experienced firsthand how helpful members of the NFF team are, as well as being able to witness behind the scenes how much the team genuinely wants to help.
Since joining the team in 2021, I instantly felt welcome, empowered and part of a family. As a Naval Spouse myself, I love being able to give back to a community that I am part of. I feel a great honour to work for NFF and feel proud to say I am part of this amazing team.
