The first Armed Forces Commissioner has now been officially appointed by John Healey MP, the Defence Secretary.
The role of the Commissioner is to provide independent and impartial oversight of the Service Complaints system for members of the UK Armed Forces.
Polly Perkins-Miller took up her new post on 30th March and her role is “to provide independent and impartial oversight of the Service Complaints system for members of the UK Armed Forces, and to act as a direct point of contact for serving personnel and their families, who will be able to raise general service welfare concerns that may impact on their service lives and their ability to serve”.
The NFF looks forward to working with the Commissioner and her team as they begin to support the Armed Forces community over the coming months. More information about the Armed Forces Commissioner can be found on their website: Welcome to the Armed Forces Commissioner | Armed Forces Commissioner
